The standard jelly roll contains forty 2 1/2" x 45" strips of fabric. They are cut the width of the fabric (WOF), from selvage to selvage. Jelly Rolls are sold in sets of 40 strips from a coordinating fabric line; total yardage yield is approximately 2 3/4+ yards. However always read descriptions as different manufacturers and even Moda will occasionally come out with a jelly roll with something other than 40 strips. They, Moda, now have a junior roll with 20 strips. If you have not explored the realm of strip quilting yet, you are in for many fantastic surprises!
