Sold by the quarter yard in continuous quarter yard increments, however this is taken from a 55″ wide roll instead of a 44″ wide bolt. If only one quarter yard is purchased fabric is cut by “fat quarter” (a fat quarter is 1/4 of a yard, only cut on the half yard, so instead of being 9″ by 44″), ….. however this fat quarter is taken from a 55″ wide roll so your fat quarter will measure approx. 18″ x 27.5″!
