Collection Description: CIVIL WAR ANTHEM is a reproduction collection of prints recalling the years of America’s tragic rebellion. Each print is named for a Civil War song — marching music, inspirational anthems or sentimental solace. PRINTS feature florets scattered, joined in floral trails or formalized into the grids and stripes so popular in the years 1850 to 1870. A rare flag print (included) celebrates the Union Navy. A paisley stripe evokes the warmth and elegance of the printed cottons that were only a memory to Southern women who proudly wore the homespuns echoed in the woven plaids. THE COLORS reproduce the natural dyes of the era, with a few of the main colorways also named for songs such as the Bonnie Blue Flag and the Yellow Rose of Texas.
